SCALE 1 (ÉCHELLE 1) is an editorial project from Lisa Tararbit, visual artist currently studying at EBAT and Alaric Garnier, graphic designer studying at ENSBA Lyon, as a contribution to the Petite Bibliothèque Infernale run by Catherine Guiral. They collaborated around the idea of “how to make a book with paintings”, questioning scale, colors, mediums and reproduction, both from a technical and conceptual point of view. The graphic designer decided a format, ordered to the artist a painting which was photographed in black & white and printed scale one.
It resulted this 16 pages booklet, a folded painting colorised all along the printing process.
